  1. Growing up in Lubbock, I saw a lot of that as a kid. Mostly old women at church :/ Not pretty. It is hilarious though, when the skirt is long and it covers their head. I have vivid memories of a portly woman with only her hands visible above the dress as it swirled up around her head. Everything else was covered by shoes, hose, a giant girdle (ala Sears), and that dress blowing up like those floppy advertising things. That same gust whipped up enough dirt to blind me. I think that’s why I remember it so well. It was the last thing I saw for an hour…
